Recent ActivityInstructor: Chaplain Woodling
St. Martin's Episcopal School holds weekly chapel services on Monday mornings. First through eighth grades meet together in St. Martin in the Fields Church at 8:30 a.m., beginning on August 27th, 2007.
In the Upper School Chapel, students and faculty take part in each chapel service. Students serve as acolytes and readers. Classes can present a special program or skit. The Chaplain, the Reverend Edith Woodling, serves as the Celebrant for the services. Dr. James Hamner, Headmaster, and Father John McCard, Rector, also assist at the services and celebrate the Eucharist once a month. Faculty, as well as visitors from other churches and organizations are also invited to speak at our services.
Early Childhood gathers each Monday at 9:30 a.m. for their Chapel service, led by Mrs. Breed, Chaplain Woodling, and Mrs. Deupree. Children serve as acolytes, sing and pray together, and listen to stories from the Bible.
Chapel services are an integral part of our school's mission. The Chapel services and religious studies classes encourage and support each student in their faith journey.
Class Announcements Ash Wednesday, February 6thWe will have an Ash Wednesday Service for students and faculty on Wednesday, February 6th at 9:10 a.m.
EpiphanyWe are observing the season of Epiphany, "manifestation," the showing of the Christ Child to all peoples of the Earth. This is a time of light and hope in the midst of winter.
 Acolytes and ReadersStudents serve in Chapel each Monday by acolyting and reading the scriputue and prayers. The schedule is posted on this website and students are given a reminder letter the week before their scheduled service.
Students should arrive at the Sacristy of the Church at 8:00 a.m. on the Monday they are scheduled. Class Files |
